August 1-5, 2011

    Quebec City, CANADA

We were honoured by the presence of more than 1225 researchers from more than 42 countries. This year we had a record number of presentations (more than 1175) in ten parallel sessions over five days, including one plenary lecture by a leader in the broad field of steels and 60 keynote talks by worldwide experts in disciplines at the frontier with materials science and engineering.

During the organization of this meeting, particular attention was also addressed to propose you a social program susceptible to facilitate exchanges and networking. At the Opening Reception, on Sunday, live music and drinks had set the scene for meeting old and new friends. On Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, two poster sessions were proposed where finger foods and drinks were served, to accompany the expected scientific exchanges. On Wednesday night, the traditional THERMEC Dinner and Award Ceremony were held at convention Center.

The conference was supported by the following sponsors:

KG, Bruker AXS inc., CCR Process Products, Centre québécois sur les matériaux fonctionnels (CQMF), Dynamic Systems Inc., Howard Alloy, Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Maney Publishing, Ministère du développement économique, de l’innovation et de l’exportation du Québec, National Science Foundation (NSF), Norax Canada Inc., NSF ERC for Revolutionizing Metallic Biomaterials, Proto Manufacturing ltd., Regal, Rio Tinto Alcan, TMS, Tourisme Québec, Université Laval, Vacuum Products Canada Inc.
